Maximum Power from a Minimum Footprint, July 18, 2011 This review is from: Boxed Intel Desktop Board Executive Series Mini-ITX Form Factor for Second Generation Intel Core Family Processors BOXDQ67EPB3 (Personal Computers) Built a Small Form Factor computer using this motherboard, i7 2600K Sandy Bridge processor, 8GB Samsung DDR3 1333, Silverstone SUGO Series SG07-B Mini-ITX Desktop Computer case, LG CT21N Blu-Ray Combo Drive, Seagate ST32000641AS 2TB harddrive and a Radeon HD 5950 Video card.
Have been building computers since 1990 but this was the FIRST SFF desktop I have built using the "mini-ITX" form factor. All I can say is WOW! When I first saw the retail box packaging for the motherboard, I initially thought I was looking at the CPU box - the retail box is about only 7" square. But don't let the SIZE fool you. Even though you only have TWO memory slots 8GB of RAM is plenty for Windows 7 x64 Ultimate. You also can use the same "Sandy Bridge" 3.4GHZ i7 CPU AND a full size video card (the HD5950 has about 3 inches of room to spare in a case that is less than 14" in length) - that you would normally associate with a full size ATX motherboard.

Just follow the recommended wattage for the CPU (not more than 65 Watts) and it is a great product. Setup was a breeze since I wasn't trying to OC; just a good general purpose PC. Two things impress me the most; first the video is really good for integrated video (in the CPU). And second, the Intel boards always do a great job of implementing 'sleep' mode. This makes booting the PC as close to instantaneous as you can get. Great product at an OK price.

VERY UNIQUE to this model DQ67EP is that it has a mini PCIe port (exactly for laptop wireless cards)
Attention: the motherboard doesn't come with a wireless card or cables and antennas.
I purchased separately a Intel WiFi 6205 wireless card along with an u.fl cable + antenna (the u.fl cable makes the connection between the antena and the card) so now I have wireless internet as well.
Why bother with external antennas and u.fl connectors instead of getting a cheap aftermarket regular size PCI wirelesss card?
Answer: Because it gives you wireless vPro KVM !!!!!!
What is wireless vPRO KVM ?
